Our History

VFW Post 8185 was chartered in 1946 in Port Deposit, Maryland. For over 80 years, we have been a cornerstone of the veteran community, providing support, camaraderie, and service to those who have served our nation in overseas conflicts.

Our post was named in honor of Jerry Skrivanek, a Private who served in the United States Army during WWII, who exemplified the values of courage, sacrifice, and dedication that define our organization.

Throughout our history, we have remained committed to our core mission: to foster camaraderie among veterans, serve our community, and advocate for all who have worn the uniform.
